Bootlegger`s in Traverse City

Awesome burger, cool atmosphere, friendly staff. I grabbed a burger and water and the whole meal was less than 10 bucks. It was great. Very cool place.

Great place to watch a game drink a beer from their good selection of beers and grab some mighty tasty bar food. The servers are friendly and I like the relaxed atmosphere. We come here often.

First of all we came here during a pandemic, they didn’t organize a very good line system to wait to get in and out bridal party waited like 45 minutes to get in and were cut by another bridal party the whole line of 40 other people told the employee they cut and they were still let in before everyone who actually waited in line. Pretty sure it’s common curtesy to not cut lines but if people do, the workers need to make it right.

Favorite bar in TC. Has the local feel i look for on vacation.

Came here around 3 p.m. on a Thursday. We sat down and it took ten minutes for somebody to even acknowledge us. Then it took another ten minutes to get our drinks. The waitress told us she'd be right back to get our order. Another 10-15 minutes she came back by and said "I realized that I forgot to take your order." I told the waitress that we now didn't have time for food because we had to get our baby back to the room for feeding/nap. The waitress then said "well, our kitchen is running 45 minutes behind anyway." SERIOUSLY! Wouldn't you tell people that up front? Absolutely unacceptable service. It is the week of Cherry Festival, and the place was clearly inadequately staffed for increased traffic. It is too bad this business owner would rather have the expense of lost business and bad reviews rather than the expense of adequate staff!

Great food, burger was excellent and perch basket had generous portions and tasted great. Servers were friendly and attentive. Everything was done very well.

Ordered takeout 8/10/20 because of Covid to eat in car....no plastic silverware ,no napkins,no specifically asked for malt vinegar to have with fish dinner enclosed..had to eat with fingers ..wasn't going back in to a crowded establishment and phone not answered.

We always stop in when we visit Travers City, always in the early afternoon, and always enjoy our visit. I strongly recommend an afternoon visit if you like a quiet place to have a drink. Apparently it’s rather busy in the evening.

My friend and I were walking down the street, and we were pretty hungry. We Came Upon a sign that said the best burgers in Traverse City. That prompted us to walk through the door! I have to tell you I was not disappointed. The food was excellent, the staff was very attentive. This was a very Lively bar with great music and great views when you are sitting by the window! This will become a must see spot for me every time I visit this great City! Thank you for being awesome bootleggers!!

Pretty fun place, with lots a character. It will and does attract a younger and rowdy crowd. So you will see fights in or outside every now and then. But it has great cheap drinks.

Always good. Lots of Screens for viewing sports. Can't beat the Perch basket! Wings are also really good.

My husband and I were there 2/15/2020.We love their perch basket/smelt basket.But I decided on a burger. The bun was burnt on top and bottom. Burger heavily season with Pepper and a lot of waffle fries. My husband wanted his smelt basket he got 10 2" smelt and the basket was heaping full of waffle fries..Ashame we won't go back!!!

Just visited the first time last night. Old time decor was a nice change of pace. Warmly greeted by the server and the bartender, Brian. They have free popcorn. The service could not have been better. The drinks and food prices are cheap. Had the perch dinner and fried wontons. Both were very good. I'll be back soon

We were having a lovely evening here on a Friday night with friends that came in town. Our waitress was great, atmosphere was fun, etc. My boyfriend and I each went to the restroom and I came out to him saying we were told to leave because “I was acting extremely drunk”. Mind you, we were standing in line waiting for the line to die down and chatting with other locals. It was packed inside and we were not causing any trouble at all, so we were absolutely shocked as to why WE were being asked to leave. Completely unacceptable. Either ask your bouncers to limit how many people they let in or figure something else out in regards to you business’ capacity, because this is absolutely unacceptable to treat your customers like this. We live in town and will tell our friends/family/neighborhood about our absolutely terrible experience here!

Amazing! I had 2 kids with me and we all found something to eat for lunch! The servers are amazing, I felt like a regular (we were visiting from out of town). THE WAFFLE FRIES ARE A MUST TRY!!! 10/10 recommend for adults, families, everyone!! The atmosphere was awesome too! Great music but not too loud. Loved it, will definitely be coming back! Service was quick, friendly and there was no wait time!

Had the smelt basket which I get everytime we get up there from Holland. Totally disappointed, the portion was so small it would fit in the palm of my hand. Definitely not the way it used to be. Won't be back.

Ah the triplewide, doublewide, or those three bars on Union, between Front and Park. Whatever you call them, you're sure to have a good time. I can go in the on a Wednesday after being there once in two years and still see someone I know. It's one of the last stops of the night and the party is always there. It's a bar with cheap booze, loud conversation, and plenty of late night antics. Make it your last stop to keep the party going.

Employees were great and funny. Their cheese pepper jack balls are amazing!

Came up for the weekend, not realizing it was "restaurant week". I also didn't realize how many restaurants are priced so high that there was no way I would pay those prices. The atmosphere at a lot of the places were definitely tailored to a more upperclass crowd. Cue Bootleggers! We liked it so much Friday night, we went back Saturday. Plenty of seating, great food, and very affordable for the area. Both waitresses we had were great and the smelt was amazing!!!

Good food and service and sometimes even a show

We were greeted exactly upon entering by the very kind bartender/ server Laura. Excellent service. This place is a hidden gem for us. With how packed many of the bars restaurants right on Union St. are, we were glad to find a quiet, clean setting with comfortable bar height tables and stools just around the beaten path! The food was fresh and tasty with more delicious options than just typical bar fare. And the MUSIC?! Fantastic mix of 80’s and 60’s Motown! Nice for kids with the paper coloring menu and good options for 2+ kids. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked and our drinks were not at all weak. Will definitely return in the future.

Fun little bar...too bad I don't remember my night there lol

This is the "place to go" as they say for bar folk that like intensely crowded shoulder to shoulder humanity all in one place with loud loud talking lol. This is by far the most chaotic stimulating place that I can think of going so much going on, so many conversations and people, and so on. It's at its worst during Cherry Festival so good luck during that time. Nonetheless, I will say that during my times there I never had a problem and I actually had a good conversation with some of the security folk. Great place for sure.
